There's something very positive about negative ions and it can be seen in hair that's been blown dry with an ionic hair dryer. Negative ions, activated by heat, are attracted to the positive charges that exist on hair's cuticle. When they connect, there is an acidic effect that causes the hair's cuticle to constrict, becoming smoother.
